What is Digital Transformation and Why is it an opportunity for my MSP?

A big opportunity that is available to MSPs right now is around Digital Transformation.

Digital Transformation is probably a term that you’ve heard of, but you’re possibly not quite sure how it applies to your MSP business.

Well, Digital Transformation is the process of using technology to create new — or modify existing — business processes, culture, and customer experiences to meet changing business and market requirements.

Right now, are you aware of any changing business or market requirements?

Of course! Thanks to COVID-19, the whole world has changed in a matter of weeks!

The Acceleration in Digital Transformation

I recently read a report by Anurag Agrawal at Tech Aisle that said that 52% of SMBS are planning to accelerate their digital transformation plans.

 Anurag Agrawal at Tech Aisle

That means that more than half of small businesses are saying they are going to speed up their plans to invest in digital transformation.

Why are they investing so heavily in Digital Transformation?

Simply put; they have got to if they want to survive.

Right now, the smart businesses are looking at digital transformation as a way to not only survive but to thrive in the new normal of the COVID-19 world.

But these smart businesses still need help.

This requirement is an opportunity for your MSP business.

They have a problem, and you can be part of the solution.

Why MSPs are ideally positioned to help with Digital Transformation

Most MSPs I know didn’t have a problem adapting to working from home.

Why was this?

Well, your MSP business is already using cloud solutions.

And your cloud solutions can be used from anywhere.

You are already using Voice-over-IP telephone systems that don’t care where you are in the world you are. The phones just work!

Your MSP is also using tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams.

The collaboration tools give everybody in your team visibility of conversations and what is happening.

Put in simple terms; You are agile, and you are nimble.

Your clients don’t have these tools, or if they do, they don’t use them to their full potential.

I’m challenging you to begin letting people know how YOU work.

How do you remain nimble? How do you adapt quickly?

Share these tools and these working practices with others via your social media.

Let people know how you’re running a modern business in your marketing.

You will attract clients who aspire to have a business just like yours.

Government Support for Small Businesses

Governments across the world are trying to kickstart their economies.

There are grants, loans, and finance available for those businesses who want to change the way they do business.

Is your Managed Service Provider business familiar with the options available to clients?

If not, make sure you become familiar with them.

(I’ve put together a COVID-19 MSP Resources Page that might help you)

I’d urge you to be a part of the Digital Transformation solution that you can offer clients.

Become familiar with the finance options available to your clients.

Offer them packages that take advantage of these grants, loans, and investment opportunities.

Conclusion

Digital Transformation is no longer a buzzword.
