Does Robin (Atera) work with other DevOps platforms? You demo’d Monday.com.
Yes, we natively integrate with several tools and have APIs that open endless possibilities.
Does Robin work with other tools for these types of activities?
Yes, Robin can connect to multiple tools in your tech stack via MCP, Zapier, or APIs.
What separates MCP from REST API?
MCP is a specialized, AI-native protocol designed for large language models, whereas a REST API is a general-purpose interface for traditional software applications.
Can Robin integrate with existing AI tools?
Yes. It acts as its own AI layer and can complement or replace parts of your existing stack.
Will Atera integrate with tools like Guardz?
Currently this isn’t in our roadmap. You can request to add this feature through Uservoice.
Product, positioning, and availability
Is Robin different from the other Atera AI tools or is it an extension/upgrade?
Robin is a separate product, not an add-on. It does, however, use Atera’s infrastructure.
Is Robin included with AI Copilot?
No. Robin is a separate product.
What about AI tools for technicians?
Atera offers AI Copilot as a separate add-on designed specifically for technicians.
Is Robin available for RMM technicians / MSPs?
Yes. Robin is available for MSPs and connects seamlessly to your Atera environment. It is a separate, chargeable product.
Is there a minimum user requirement?
Robin is designed for enterprise level, and it’s ideal for organizations with over 500 employees. It can, however, be implemented in organizations of any size.
Architecture and how it works
Does Robin run locally or in the cloud? Does it have multimodal capabilities?
Robin runs in the cloud but uses endpoint agent telemetry and permissions. It can see and act on processes but does not track mouse activity or access webcams.
How does Robin compare to open-source AI agents? Can it perform “computer use”?
Robin includes many components beyond an open-source LLM. It can perform on-device operations via its agent.
Does Robin support reporting or dashboards?
Robin acts as a personal IT technician. For reporting tools, it can integrate via MCP or APIs.
What tools or layers are eliminated first?
Atera consolidates ticketing, RMM, asset management, and autonomous resolution into one platform.
Does Robin execute actions or just suggest them?
Robin takes action! Robin can take thousands of actions, both on the device and on the cloud. On top of that, you can expand Robin’s capabilities with playbooks, MCP integrations, and custom integrations through APIs.
Security, access, and governance
How do you control what Robin is allowed to do?
Robin can only perform actions that are pre-approved or whitelisted by your IT team.
Does Robin require Domain Admin or Global Admin access?
Only in limited, approved scenarios. Access is tightly controlled via integrations, API keys, and guardrails, with optional human approval.
How is risk managed when giving Robin elevated access?
Through scoped permissions, approvals, workflows, and audit logs. Robin operates within defined playbooks.
What stops prompt injection attacks?
Robin has built-in guardrails to prevent prompt injection.
How is Robin protected against AI-specific attacks?
Robin includes a real-time content filtering engine that blocks all non-IT topics as well as harmful content such as hate speech, violence, and adult content. These filters are always on and cannot be disabled, ensuring interactions stay compliant and professional. On top of this, Robin aligns with global standards such as Microsoft’s Responsible AI Principles, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and the ISO/IEC 42001 AI Management System.
Identity, authentication, and user verification
How does Robin handle MFA?
MFA is handled via phone verification. If a number is saved, a code is sent automatically.
How does Robin prevent unauthorized password resets?
Password resets use 2FA validation. Locked-out users are verified via SMS.
How does Robin verify user identity?
Through MFA, SSO, and customizable verification workflows.
Data, privacy, and tenancy
Where and how is RLHF data stored? Is there a shared vector database?
Robin does not use RLHF in the traditional sense and does not train on customer data. There is no shared vector database. Each tenant’s data is isolated.
Will customer data be used to train Robin?
No. Atera does not train on your data.
Is data shared across tenants?
No. Robin is tenant-based.
Where is Robin hosted?
In both the US and EU.
Deployment, setup, and operations
Can Atera agents be deployed via network discovery scans?
Yes, and additional improvements are planned. Check the roadmap for updates.
Does Atera plan to deploy agents directly from the portal?
Atera offers multiple deployment methods, but not directly from the portal.
Will multiple devices be assignable to a user?
Yes. Robin can identify the last login and assign the correct device.
Can custom fields be bulk populated (CSV/XLSX)?
This can be done via Professional Services.
What professional services are available?
Atera offers implementation, data migration, ticket migration, API assistance, and reporting support.
Knowledge, learning, and performance
Does Robin come with a foundation knowledge base that we can expand?
Robin is trained on broad IT knowledge, but your company knowledge base is unique. The more you add, the better it performs in your environment.
How does Robin avoid making incorrect decisions?
Robin uses oversight, logging, rollback mechanisms, and feedback loops. Actions can be reviewed, reversed, or escalated.
What happens when Robin doesn’t know what to do?
It may try alternative approaches or escalate if needed.
File management and collaboration tools
Can Robin assist with file management?
Yes, at the SharePoint level.
Can Robin create SharePoint structure or permissions reports?
Robin can trigger Playbooks to query or export SharePoint structure and permissions data as part of automated or ad-hoc workflows. For example, a Playbook can describe the intent (“generate a permissions audit for all SharePoint sites/subsites”) and Robin will use Atera’s integration APIs to execute the required steps, run scripts, or interface with connected apps/tools.
Strategy and transformation
What tends to be the biggest challenge moving from automation to autonomy?
The biggest challenge in moving from automation to autonomy is change management, which involves shifting organizational culture, establishing trust, and redefining human roles from operators to supervisors. While automation is a technical implementation of “if-then” rules, autonomy requires a fundamental restructuring of workflows and operating models, which is often inhibited by human resistance and the need for new skill sets

Did teams have to drastically change workflows to use Robin?
No. Robin works perfectly with existing workflows. You just need to invest time in setting it up properly with context foundation.

Does company description work for multi-tenant environments?
Yes, it does.
Is Atera a project management tool?
No. Atera is an Autonomous IT platform, though it includes some supporting capabilities.
How does this improve customer security?
Robin resolves IT issues and learns from them to improve over time and create new solutions. This helps to maintain a more secure system.
How is Robin different from other AI tools?
Robin is the only solution that can perform device actions autonomously. The RMM foundation gives Robin real operational awareness. It can inherit device-level context such as agent data, health/status, alerts, patching, remote actions, scripts, and automation capabilities from the Atera platform, instead of answering blindly like a generic AI assistant. That means its decisions can be tied to what is actually happening on the endpoint, not just to what the user typed.
