When I joined Atera in July 2017, I was looking for my first job in the high-tech industry, hoping to become a programmer one day.
I worked as a technical support engineer for nine months, hoping to gain some experience and knowledge in the industry. Atera supported my career goals. Knowing that I wanted to join the R&D team, they gave me additional work related to programming, while I was on the support team. I came to know programming without a course or a degree. Atera invested in me so I could progress in my career.
After nine wonderful months, I got the news I was hoping for - "We want to promote you to the R&D team!" I was so glad that my hard work and dedication was acknowledged, and that it got me to this point.
I am currently working as a full stack developer, developing Atera’s awesome product and having the best time with the best people.
Atera is a company that believes in its employees, and makes their wishes come true. Knowing I can develop this much in such a brief period, makes me extremely excited about my future in high-tech.
After 3 years working in technical support for two Telcom companies, I was ready to make the leap to a global company with a wide range of applications.
My best friend (now Atera's CTO) called me and offered me a job as a support engineer. I couldn't wait to start. Working with your best friend is a gift! Two weeks after I joined, I invited another colleague to come in for an interview at Atera, and now he holds the position of dev team leader.
I began my Atera journey in technical support, tackling networking problems and complex IT and system issues. Now, nine years later, with an extensive technical background and years of managerial challenges, I'm now in the role of DevOps.
This is a technically challenging and interesting position, dealing with infrastructure stability. While my developer teammates may finally fix a bug at 2 am, I stay awake, until I’ve made sure everything is fully back to operational for the customer.
It was spring 2010 when I got ‘the call’ from my friend – “A great company is looking for software engineers!” Nine years later (but who’s counting?) we’re still working together at Atera!
Atera was my first R&D job, and since then I’ve come a long way. I started out as a junior developer, and now, I’m a team Leader—leading other developers, testers and designers.
The experience of building an entire product from scratch is truly remarkable and could be called a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity for many developers. Fortunately for me, Atera put their trust in me as a young developer, and over the years we’ve built the most amazing and revolutionary, all-in-one platform for companies around the world.
At Atera, new employees are embraced and given chances to make a difference, to contribute, and evolve both personally and professionally. Working in this kind of caring environment, it feels truly like a family of sorts, and makes all the difference in your day-to-day feelings of job satisfaction.
I joined Atera a little over a year ago as the company’s marketing manager – the second team member on the Marketing team. It’s been a challenging and exciting road, where I’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot, and contribute to the company’s growth.
Atera is truly a company like no other, starting from the lack of imposed hierarchy. We all sit side by side, regardless of job title, and everyone in the company is always available and happy to help. It’s such a pleasure to work with competent and easy-going professionals.
