AI is set to have a $4.1 trillion impact on the global labor market in the next 3 years, according to Morgan Stanley.

No industry will be left unchanged, ours included. This transformation creates an unprecedented opportunity to make Atera’s vision a reality: invent a new way to do IT as we lead the launch of a new category, AI-powered IT (AIT).

On October 30 we partnered with Microsoft to host a virtual event and unveil the technological breakthroughs achieved by the fusion of Atera and Microsoft OpenAI, ushering in a new era in IT management.

Here, we summarize the key takeaways from this event that shed light on the transformative potential of AI for the IT sector.

Takeaway 1: AI will bring major changes to the labor market

The event opened with Atera CEO Gil Pekelman highlighting the remarkable potential of AI in reshaping the global labor market and noting that AI adoption is a matter of when and not if, with early adopters gaining an edge.

The benefits AI offers, including enhanced accuracy, improved task management, big data capabilities, and evolving systems, will have far-reaching implications for various industries and roles, including IT.

Very soon, AI is not going to be “nice to have” but a competitive necessity, because of the huge boost in efficiency and productivity it offers ‌users. AI is going to completely change the way we work—but if we leverage it the right way, use it to do things more intelligently and efficiently and accurately, it’s going to be a change everyone will benefit from.

Takeaway 2: AI-powered IT is set to revolutionize the IT industry

Atera’s partnership with Microsoft enables us to incorporate additional AI capabilities into the platform, creating a new category: AI-powered IT.

“When we started Atera in 2012, we bet on AI from day one. We created an all-in-one framework from the ground up. And with this framework, our platform collects roughly 60,000 data points per second. We have our own proprietary algorithms and they use the 60,000 data points per second to predict IT problems, achieve prevention of issues, quicker resolution times, and in general, improve the whole IT service,” explained Pekelman.

He also discussed how AI-powered IT can resolve IT issues, automate IT processes, and amplify the technician’s capabilities to solve 10 times as many tickets per technician, and cut down ticket resolution times by 99%.

Our AI will summarize tickets so technicians won’t need to go through long conversations, suggest how to reply to a ticket, and offer 1-click solutionsOshri Moyal, Atera co-founder and CTO explained.

“It can also run a complicated command line and generate scripts by just describing the issue at hand. The AI will do the hard work for you,” he added.

Takeaway 3: AI adoption is not without challenges, but they can be overcome

During the event, Gil and Oshri touched on the main barriers IT pros bring up when discussing AI adoption, as most existing tools are not yet built for the integration of AI.

“Scaling AI across an entire organization is a process with many unknowns: Time, money, educational resources, and a need for employees with specific AI skills are all considerations. IT teams further need to understand how AI will integrate into and impact their specific roles and workflows,” Pekelman said. “Again, the thought behind AIT is that these AI capabilities are already integrated into the IT management platform, so users get them built-in with the integration already taken care of. That makes for a much quicker onboarding and a shorter learning curve.”

However, Atera’s all-in-one platform has built-in AI capabilities that make it much easier to onboard and integrate while also ensuring data privacy and security. With Atera’s AI-powered IT platform, no additional knowledge or training is necessary, and can instead help IT professionals and organizations overcome technical barriers.

IT professionals can get started on Atera within minutes, and the AI functionalities are all integrated end-to-end into the platform so organizations can start reaping the efficiency benefits instantly.

Takeaway 4: AI has the potential to change the way we interact with applications

In the session focusing on AI, GPT, and ChatGPT, Adir Ron, Microsoft for Startups’ CTO emphasized that AI could revolutionize the way people interact with applications.

AI’s ability for hyper-automation and hyper-personalization opens the door to further customizing applications and websites based on user behavior and preferences. The development of GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) was discussed as a key enabler of AI’s natural and human-like interaction with users, promising a multitude of new use cases and opportunities such as content generation, hyper-personalization, advanced insights, and even bridging tech skill gaps.

Takeaway 5: AI is becoming an integral part of modern tech and business operations, significantly transforming sectors such as IT

In the panel discussion on AI and responsible innovation, the panelists discussed the pivotal role AI plays in their daily operations.

AI was described as integral to modern tech and business operations, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and innovation. All participants agreed that AI is becoming increasingly central to how businesses operate, making it a competitive necessity.

“I would dare say that today about 50% of our development is going towards AI development. This really has been a revolution for us,” – Tal Dagan, Atera’s CPO.

“AI can also help companies avoid something with a much more immediate financial impact—downtime. There are many factors that influence the damage: Industry, duration, number of people unable to work, and even the time of day.

According to Gartner, the average cost of IT downtime is $5,600 per minute or $336,000 per hour,” Pekelman said during his session.

Takeaway 6: responsible AI is paramount for trust and security

The panel discussion emphasized the importance of responsible AI. Trust and security were identified as crucial factors for AI adoption. The need for transparency, accountability, privacy, and security when implementing AI was stressed.

Panelists detailed their commitment to these principles, emphasizing that building trust among users and customers regarding the responsible use of AI is essential for wider adoption and use.

While many cite security concerns as a major AI adoption barrier, Atera’s platform is HIPAA and SOC 2-compliant and relies on Microsoft Azure OpenAI to ensure the highest levels of security.

Takeaway 7: adopting AI is a competitive necessity, and companies risk falling behind if they don’t embrace it

The panelists unanimously agreed that AI adoption is not just an option, but an absolute competitive necessity. Companies that embrace AI are poised to have a significant advantage.

AI’s potential to automate mundane tasks and empower professionals to focus on complex issues and innovation is a game-changer. Failing to adopt AI may lead to companies falling behind in this rapidly evolving landscape.

AI is here to take all the grunt work, the manual and mundane tasks, so employees can free up their time to instead focus on more complex issues and increase productivity.

Atera’s AI-powered IT platform is a solution that helps and will continue to help IT professionals save hundreds of hours, stay on top of their cybersecurity, and manage all their assets, and keep on top of the needs of their end users. By integrating AI into IT, Atera’s platform enables IT professionals to do IT smarter, not harder, and be much more efficient.

“AI is there to make it productive so that we will create more, we will innovate more, and the AI is there to support us in those tasks,” – Lauri Kinnunen, Jalo IT Oy MSP, said in the panel.

Join the AIT revolution

As AI continues to reshape the global labor market and redefine industries across the board, Atera is not merely an observer but an active driver of this profound transformation. Our partnership with Microsoft is a monumental step towards realizing our vision of AI-powered IT (AIT).

The future of IT has arrived, and Atera is proud to be at the forefront, leading the way into this exciting new frontier!
