Let’s now move to the in-depth comparison of Atera vs. Auvik.

#1: Features and capabilities

Both Atera and Auvik are used by IT teams to monitor and manage network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and servers.

While Auvik’s features focus mainly on network monitoring and discovery, Atera expands to all parts of IT management, including RMM software, PSA, patching, helpdesk, Agentic AI, and network monitoring.

Atera’s key features include:

  • RMM – to monitor and manage devices, proactively resolve device issues, and remotely access them for troubleshooting.
  • AI agents – to resolve up to 92% of technical incidents with Robin and assist technicians in troubleshooting with AI Copilot.
  • Patch management – to keep Windows, Linux, and macOS, as well as third-party applications, up-to-date.
  • Network Discovery – to automatically detect all devices on a network, maintain their entire lifecycle, and run security scans to identify potential risks.
  • Helpdesk – to handle tickets, automatically summarize and respond to them using Atera’s AI ticketing system.
  • PSA – for MSP to handle contracts and billing, create customer portals, manage SLAs, and more.

In comparison, Auvik’s core capabilities include:

  • Network monitoring with pre-configured alerts
  • Automated discovery of IT infrastructure
  • Automated network topology mapping
  • Automatic configuration backups
  • Traffic analysis based on NetFlow data
  • Remote management tools
  • Multi-tenant management for MSPs
  • Integrations with PSA, documentation, and ticketing tools

The feature set is arguably broad, but lacks features like built-in ticketing, PSA, and patch management.

#2: Agentic AI development

Agentic AI is changing IT management, so it’s important to compare Atera and Auvik here.

Since we first wrote this comparison, Auvik has launched its AI agents in April 2026, called ‘Auvik Aurora’, which are built for network and infrastructure management. They work out of the box with no tuning required.

According to Auvik’s own materials, the AI agents can:

  • Analyze interface statistics, bandwidth utilization, CPU, memory usage, and more, then recommend next steps
  • Offer troubleshooting help within the Auvik platform
  • Prioritize alerts by impact so high-priority issues come up first
  • Create alerts from natural-language prompts
  • Assist with vendor-specific command syntax and scripting
  • Flag end-of-life and end-of-support hardware

Auvik states in its blog article that the AI doesn’t remove human oversight: it starts investigations and helps technicians act with more confidence. Its scope is the network layer, which means end-user requests, like a slow laptop, a locked account, or software installation, fall outside what it helps with.

Atera’s Robin works differently. Robin is an AI technician that doesn’t just assist: it resolves real-world IT issues end-to-end directly on the device, server, mainframe, or the network.

It does this through a four-step resolution process:

  1. Robin diagnoses the issue: It receives the request through Teams, Slack, email, the Atera Customer Portal, or third-party ITSM tools, verifies the user against identity providers like Okta, Azure AD, or Google, and asks follow-up questions to gather the context it needs.
  2. It remediates the issue: It takes the approved action directly on the device, server, mainframe, or network, and routes for approval only when a step requires it.
  3. It verifies the resolution: It confirms the issue is actually fixed before closing anything. If it isn’t, Robin escalates to a technician with full context.
  4. It closes the loop: It updates the ticket in your existing ITSM with the outcome and next steps. Every request and outcome is logged for governance and compliance.

Robin’s underlying technology has also been in production since May 2025 (as IT Autopilot), about eleven months before Aurora launched.

One Atera user, Heifer International, already implemented Robin for end-user support and achieved 24/7 coverage across every time zone for new tickets. Robin’s first response time is 0.1 seconds, so an employee in any time zone knows their request is in progress when they submit it.

Cedric Lambert, the CIO from Heifer International, commented:

  • “Robin is not just telling someone how to open the ticket. It’s actually opening the ticket for them. The agent takes care of all the back and forth with the user, analyzing the computer for the issue, and solving that problem directly, without a technician.”

Atera’s second AI agent, AI Copilot, is technicians’ go-to IT companion for running health checks, diagnosing issues, and resolving issues on your Windows and macOS devices.

#3: User interface and usability

Let’s move to another important comparison: the user interface of Atera and Auvik.

According to G2’s comparison of the two, this is how real users have rated Atera vs. Auvik’s ease of use:

G2’s Ease of Use Category1. Atera2. Auvik
1. Ease of Use9.2 score (1,100+ reviews)8.6 score (280+ reviews)
2. Ease of Setup9.2 score (970+ reviews)8.7 score (230+ reviews)
3. Ease of Admin9.0 score (620+ reviews)8.7 score (220+ reviews)

Both platforms have received strong ease of use ratings, but Atera has a slight edge across all categories.

Atera’s modern, intuitive dashboards are fully customizable, and the baseline product has a low barrier to entry and quick implementation. In other words, you’ll have no trouble learning and using our product. Atera lets you access all your data in just a few clicks.

Here’s a look at Atera’s admin dashboard:

Key IT management tasks, such as troubleshooting devices, accessing tickets, or remotely connecting to devices, can be easily done from our admin dashboard interfaces.

To access AI Copilot (available at no extra cost), you can click on the bottom-right corner or directly from a ticket, alert, or device page.

In comparison, here’s a look at Auvik’s admin dashboard:

While we might be biased, we truly believe most IT teams can benefit more from Atera’s intuitive dashboards.

One legacy user of Atera, Chris C., said:

  • “We’ve been using Atera for the better part of about 10 years now. I would say that their ticketing platform has come a long way since then. It’s much more intuitive. Atera as a whole is flexible; more so now than ever before.”

#4: Performance and reliability

Preventing downtime should be one of your main priorities, as downtime can cost an average of $5,600 per minute and create serious security risks.

Therefore, choosing an IT product with strong performance and reliability is important.

Users of Auvik say this is an area that needs improvement. Support is a key part of platform reliability, and Auvik users have said support has declined in recent years.

One Reddit user said, “Auvik’s support is unacceptable. We rely on tools like this. If they can’t even clean up their data or respond to tickets, what are we paying for?”

Reddit user comment on Auvik support

At Atera, performance and reliability are our top priorities. If you ever run into problems, you’ll always have access to 24/7 live chat and email support.

#5: Pricing and value for money

Pricing is an area where Atera and Auvik differ significantly.

Atera’s pricing is transparent and based on pay-per-technician, which means you can manage unlimited devices/endpoints for a fixed monthly/yearly cost.

Here are Atera’s pricing plans laid out for IT departments:

Our transparent per-technician pricing makes scaling predictable, and you can add new endpoints without increasing the bottom line.

With Auvik, the only way to get the pricing is to request a custom quotation from their sales team. What we know is that the pricing is based on pay-per-device, which means the price increases for every new managed network device.

The lack of transparent pricing makes it hard to compare the two platforms’ pricing plans.

But most users agree that Atera’s transparent per-technician pricing plans make scaling more cost-effective.

#6: Security and compliance

Both Atera and Auvik take the commitment to security and compliance seriously. Both platforms have data encryption, two-factor authentication, and data privacy features to ensure data integrity.

At Atera, we take this step further by prioritizing adherence to industry standards, such as HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and more. We also take the security for our AI agents seriously by aligning with global standards, such as Microsoft’s Responsible AI Principles, ISO/IEC 42001, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.

In addition, Atera offers a range of security integrations, which are especially useful for enterprises that rely on different cybersecurity tools. These integrations include Acronis, Bitdefender, Cynet, Emsisoft, ESET, ThreatDown, and more.

Atera also has 50+ integrations for Robin, meaning it works inside the ITSM, identity, and business tools your team already uses.

Auvik has similar cybersecurity integrations with platforms like Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks.

#7: Customer support and community

When issues arise (as they often do), customer support and community play a key part in getting help.

All Atera users have access to 24/7 live chat and email support, so you can always get help when you need it. For self-assistance, we also have an extensive knowledge base and an active IT community, where users can troubleshoot issues and network with other IT professionals.

In comparison, Auvik also has technical support available from 4 am to 10 pm, Monday to Friday. Unfortunately, many Auvik customers say the support has declined in recent years.

One Reddit user simply commented on Auvik’s support, saying “it has turned into a joke.”

#8: User feedback and reviews

On G2 alone, Atera has received 1,200+ reviews with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5.0 stars, while Auvik has 350+ reviews with an average rating of 4.5/5.0.

Looking at G2’s comparison of Atera and Auvik, Atera wins in nearly all categories:

Users agree that Atera is overall easier to use, better meets requirements, and offers higher quality support.

One commonly praised aspect of Atera is our AI agents, which help to transform IT management.

One G2 user, Dieter S., complimented Atera’s AI and said,

  • “AI is built-in on the entire ecosystem and responds based on knowledge base articles that we created ourselves (either internal only or externally visible for the customer).”
Dieter S. commented on Atera's AI agents

Alan S. on G2 commented on Atera’s unified features and AI capabilities:

“The most helpful of using Atera is that you have both RMM and PSA in one platform and also the AI capabilities with Copilot and Robin.”

Alan S. comment on G2

Another benefit of Atera is its per-technician pricing, which is also mentioned in many reviews.

Emil C. commented on the pricing and said:

In comparison, Auvik’s positive reviews mainly relate to the platform’s network monitoring features. For example, Kyle S. loved having a comprehensive view of his client environments:

Auvik is known for having a difficult configuration process, for which they have received negative feedback. In fact, “Learning Curve” is the main con of Auvik on G2:

Atera vs. Auvik: How to choose the right option

While we might be a bit biased, we truly believe Atera offers a better value for most enterprises and SMBs alike. Why?

Atera’s key advantage over Auvik and other Auvik alternatives is its Agentic AI technology. Our autonomous IT agent, Robin, handles up to 92% of Tier-1 and complex Tier-2 technical incidents end-to-end, without a technician in the loop.

Agentic AI is representing a paradigm shift in IT management, and instead of shying away from it, bring your organization into the modern age with Atera.
