The Role
We're looking for a Senior Platform Tech Lead to join our Platform Engineering team.
In this role, you'll help shape the platform that powers all of Atera's R&D teams. You'll lead technical decisions, design scalable cloud infrastructure, build high-performance services, and drive engineering excellence across the organization. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while influencing architecture, scalability, and developer experience.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET Core.
- Lead the design and evolution of our cloud-native platform and microservices architecture.
- Build infrastructure and developer platforms that enable engineering teams to move faster.
- Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Drive architectural decisions with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve developer experience and platform capabilities.
- Mentor engineers and serve as a technical leader across multiple teams.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience building cloud-native systems using Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Expert-level proficiency in C# and .NET Core.
- Proven experience designing and building highly scalable RESTful microservices.
- Experience in Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as MSSQL and MongoDB.
- Daily hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar as a core part of the development workflow.
- Experience working in a spec-driven development process, using AI agents to accelerate implementation while validating code quality, architecture, security, and performance.
- Passion for adopting new AI tools and engineering workflows, with a strong focus on testing, observability, and code quality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience configuring AI development tools (custom instructions, MCP servers, or reusable prompt libraries).
- Experience optimizing large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of performance optimization, memory management, and .NET Garbage Collection.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
